A Few Things About Us

Established in 2000
Doodles For Sale Near

Here at Hidden View Farms, we are a professional dog breeding facility with over 20 years of experience offering happy, healthy puppies for sale from our family to yours. Here in Lancaster, Ohio we breed and raise a variety of small breed puppies. Over the years, we have experimented with many different breeds and we have found that the breeds that we currently offer are not only the best options for us, but most importantly, the best options for our new puppy families.

We also partner with two other breeders, who we trust and feel have the same standards of care as we do. They raise the majority of our mid-size and large breed puppies for us. For this reason, you’ll see puppies shown on our website who will not actually be at our place and available for showing until they are 8 weeks of age. With all of our families partnering together it gives us more of an opportunity to give each individual adult and puppy the proper time it takes to be sure they are healthy and social.

Our names are Cole, Dave, and Teana Gordon. It takes all 3 of us working full-time to make this place run efficiently and we couldn’t do what we do with one of us missing. When you contact us or come here for an appointment you will most likely be communicating with Teana or Cole, although we will probably all be here!

We began breeding in 2000. We started with shih tzus and added dachshunds very soon after. Over the years, we have spent much of our time focusing on furthering our education and learning the ins and outs of dog production; mainly for the welfare of our dogs and also so we can pass that information on to you in order to make your experience with your new family member the best possible situation.

In 2005, our son Cole added the poodles and Pomeranians with monies he earned from 4H projects. All money from those went into his bank account and with those funds, he put himself through college, earning 3 degrees debt-free. His business sense has been guiding us for some time now.

We have added several breeds to our group here since those early years! We believe that we have such an amazing choice of breeds that we can help just about any person or family find a dog that will fit their lifestyle! By partnering with our other breeder it makes the selection of breeds that we offer even wider. We are sure to be able to find your family a puppy that will fill the void perfectly!

We are members of the Ohio BBB. You can click on the link below to see our rating with them. We strive to practice good, fair, and honest business practices.

We are AKC inspected, being found to be in Complete Compliance with every inspection. We are USDA and State of Ohio licensed. Again, found to be in compliance with every inspection.

Our kennels are all brucellosis-free, with all of our dogs being tested yearly!

What this all means to you is that we are held to the utmost standards of care for our dogs. You can be assured that your puppy comes from a clean, safe, and loving environment!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer a health guarantee?

Our health guarantee says that you will have 5 days to have your puppy examined by a licensed vet. If the pup is found not to be in good health, it may be returned for a full refund within those 5 days, provided that the puppy has not been injured or neglected within those 5 days.

If you choose not to have the pup examined by the veterinarian within those 5 days, you waive your right to return the puppy. Any return of the puppy will be at the buyer’s expense. We also have a medication reimbursement protocol, where we would refund the cost of any medications for minor issues during that 5-day checkup. In addition, if the puppy should die before reaching 36 months of age (3 years) due to a genetic defect or be diagnosed with a life-threatening genetic defect, it will be replaced with a puppy of equal value or 100% of your purchase price will be applied toward a puppy of greater value. If a similar puppy is not available at the time, one will be selected from the first available litter.

If shipping is required, it will be at the buyer’s expense. If the dog should die within the specified time period the seller is to be notified within 48 hours of death. An autopsy/necropsy MUST be performed to determine the exact cause of death before validating this agreement. The expense of the autopsy/necropsy shall be the responsibility of the buyer. The results of this and any other tests shall be sent to the seller in writing. Written proof will be required to verify all of the terms of the sales contract have been met.

Can I come to see a puppy that I may be interested in?

Yes, absolutely! We do show puppies BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. This is more for your convenience since we would hate to have you drive here and have us not be available. Plus, we do like to spend time with our family too. Be sure to check with us just before your appointment time to make sure that specific puppy is still available! Should you decide to commit to the puppy, you can place a deposit on the puppy to hold it for you until it is ready to go home! After a deposit is made, the puppy is considered yours!

When can my new puppy come home with me?

Our puppies must be at least 8 weeks old before they can go home with you. This is Ohio law; it is not only our rule. It is NOT NEGOTIABLE. We do our best to assure that your puppy will have met all goals that we have set for them in eating, socializing, and health by the time they reach this age. Sometimes, a puppy will not meet those goals and we may have to ask that they stay for a few extra days. Please understand that it may be inconvenient or “mess up your plans” but our BEST INTEREST is to provide you with a happy, healthy puppy!

Do we ship?

Yes, we do have a license to ship puppies! We prefer air travel compared to ground travel in most situations. The reason for this is simple, air travel is more efficient.

We use airlines that have developed cargo programs to make them more “pet-friendly.” These airlines ensure that before the puppy boards, he will be kept in a climate-controlled waiting area where they are kept safe and monitored before they are checked in for their flight. They have climate-controlled and pressurized cargo hold areas inside the plane designed just for animals.

They have shuttle service to take the pet to and from the plane when it’s time to load and unload so that they are not exposed to the weather or sitting on the tarmac. When a layover is involved, they again are kept in a climate-controlled waiting area, they are given more food and water if needed and are monitored by staff for any health concerns. The cost for this service is $400.

We also can fly the puppy “in-cabin” via the use of “Pet Nanny”, which usually charges $400-$450. (This service may not be available for large breed puppies since they must fit under the seat for take-off and landing of the plane.) These are people who simply meet me at my airport, fly to your airport with the puppy, and meet with you!  The advantages of doing it this way would be for a very small puppy that needs more closely monitored, fed more often, and loved more for comfort! These people usually fly “stand by” and so you have to be somewhat flexible in case they were to get bumped to a later flight or something like that. The third option for shipping is ground travel. We have many options for this type of travel. We can use small private transporters, all the way up to large commercial transporters based on which type fits your situation best. The price varies greatly for this service.

ALL shipping options are at the buyer’s expense and in addition to the fee for the puppy.

What comes with my puppy?

Every one of our puppies is treated the same around here! Our puppies go home current on vaccinations and wormings, they are microchipped, and are vet checked before they leave. Our puppies have their dewclaws removed, and their tails will be docked to the proper length if that is standard for the breed. We also send home with each puppy a sentimental item from here with our scent to help ease the transition. Included in your go home paperwork is our health guarantee (one of the best you will find from a breeder) and also plenty of handouts on how to raise a puppy and coupons for necessary supplies. We are here for you even after you take your puppy home if we can help you with anything!

What food has my puppy been eating?

We feed Purina Pro Plan foods. We have been using Purina products for many years! We have tried other foods but have always gone back. Purina has been in the dog food business for over 90 years. That, to us, says they must be doing something right! Meat is the number one ingredient in Pro Plan foods. They do contain corn. We do stress that high-quality, name-brand food is best but we do understand that not everyone will agree with us on food and keep their new puppy on the same brand.

This is why we try to feed high-end, lower-grain food. Should you choose to go raw diet or grain-free, your puppy will adjust just as well as if you chose to go lower quality.

If you plan to change your puppy’s food to a brand you trust more, please ask for some of the food he is currently eating and take a slow approach to change him over. Start with just a few kibbles of the new food in his first meal and increase this by a small amount on each subsequent meal for a few days to wean the puppy over. Taking it slow will help to assure that your new puppy has the least amount of digestive upset as possible!!
